    A new name, more energy, same mission! March 29 is the activation of 2nd Audiovisual Squadron. Name change no. 14 will see Air Force Public Affairs, Operating Location-H, officially become 2nd AVS at 2 p.m. March 29 during a ceremony at The Landing.
  • Hill jet mechanic SOARs to full-time college scholarship

    A Hill aerospace propulsion journeyman will step away from his Air Force career in August, with the goal of returning as a Space Operations Officer after spending four years at the University of Utah. Senior Airman Jared Timmons with the 388th Maintenance Squadron received a commissioning opportunity through the Scholarships for Outstanding Airman to ROTC (SOAR), and is excited to continue his career after graduation.
  • New functional training area open to personnel

    The functional training room previously located in a special area called The Bubble has moved to the south side of the Hess Fitness Center.

  • Hill’s newest top one percent recognized

    Hill Air Force Base recognized the base’s newest chief master sergeants in a ceremony March 10 at Ogden Eccles Conference Center. The chiefs were honored with medallion presentations, a sabre arch introduction, toasts, and a candle-lighting ceremony that represented each of the nine service’s enlisted ranks.
  • Women’s History Month: Honoring those who fight discrimination

    Women’s History Month celebrates and recognizes women’s contributions to culture, history and society. This year’s theme is “Honoring Women Who Fight All Forms of Discrimination.”
  • F-35A pilots and maintainers conduct combat capabilities exercise

    The F-35A and those who fly and maintain it were tested recently with an exercise designed to simulate environments as close to combat as possible. This is the first time the 388th Fighter Wing’s combined 4th Fighter Squadron and 4th Aircraft Maintenance Unit have participated in this type of exercise with the F-35A.
  • Hill fighter wings honor top maintainers

    The active duty 388th Fighter Wing and Reserve 419th Fighter Wing hosted the Maintenance Professional of the Year awards here March 3. The annual event recognizes the top maintainers at Hill.
