2nd Lt. Elmer F. Schulz
Second Lieutenant Elmer F. Schulz, born in Yutan, Nebraska, was co-pilot of the Mohr crew flying Boeing B-17F-90-BO serial number 42-30203, named “Shack-up” on the Stuttgart mission. Assigned to the group’s 560th Bomb Squadron’s, the Mohr crew and “Shack-up” each had completed 13 missions before Stuttgart. Missing in action, his name is carried on the Tablets of the Missing at the Lorraine American Cemetery in St. Avold, France. He was awarded an Air Medal and the Purple Heart for his service.
