388th Fighter Wing Airman killed in accident at Causey Reservoir

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah, -- An Airman assigned to the 388th Fighter Wing died following an accident at Causey Reservoir in Weber County at approximately 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Airman 1st Class Angel Harris was 23 years old and joined the Air Force 8 months ago as an F-35 avionics apprentice. He was assigned to the 388th Fighter Wing’s 34th Fighter Generation Squadron. He was from Newark, Del.

“Our hearts go out to the family, friends and our fellow Airmen who lost a close teammate,” said Col. Charles Fallon, 388th Fighter Wing commander. “We all share the sorrow when we lose one of our own. The Air Force is a family, and we will provide every bit of comfort and help that we can during this tragic time.”

The Weber County Sheriff’s Office led the response and recovery effort and will lead the investigation into the accident.

“We are extremely grateful to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office, all the first responders and other agencies who assisted in the search and recovery effort,” Fallon said.
