HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- Airmen from the 388th and 419th Fighter Wings here will conduct an F-35A Lightning II flyover at America First Field, in Sandy, Utah on Saturday just before 7:30 p.m.
The flyover will take place prior to kickoff during a regular season soccer game between Real Salt Lake and Austin FC.
More than 40 maintainers and support personnel from the 388th and 419th FWs are working this weekend to make the flyover a success.
Residents in the Salt Lake Metro area and Utah Valley should prepare for jets to be much closer than usual flying operations, as jets are planned to fly 1,000 feet above the stadium.
The 419th FW is the first Air Force Reserve unit to fly and deploy with the operational F-35A. The 419th and 388th at Hill AFB fly and maintain a fleet of 78 jets in a Total Force partnership, which capitalizes on the strength of both the active duty and reserve components.
