HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah, -- Today the 4th Fighter Generation Squadron welcomed a new commander as Maj. Ryan Sheikh took command.

Sheikh, originally from Fullerton, Calif., previously served as the director of Maintenance Tactics and Operations for the 388th Maintenance Group. He will command more than 300 Airmen who maintain 26 F-35A Lightning II aircraft, generating training and combat sorties alongside the 4th Fighter Squadron.

The 4th FS and FGS recently returned from a 5-month deployment to Kadena Air Base, Japan.

Sheikh takes the reins from Lt. Col. Cahn Wadhams, originally from Lakewood, Colo., who has commanded the 4th FGS since June 2022.
