729th ACS deploys in support of the Global War on Terror Published May 23, 2007 By Senior Airman Stefanie Torres HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- Approximately 200 personnel from the 729th Air Control Squadron deployed to southwest Asia May 15 in support of the Global War on Terror. The squadron will be deployed for at least 120 days as a part of the Air and Space Expeditionary Force rotation. An AEF is a cross-section of aerospace capabilities that can be tailored to meet specific theater commanders' needs. The unique combat capabilities of the 729th Air Control Squadron keep the unit in high-demand. The 729th Air Control Squadron is one of three, active duty air control squadrons in the U.S., providing radar air surveillance and command and control of coalition aircraft for combatant commanders.
