34th FS change of command

Col. Joshua Wood, 388th Fighter Wing Operations Group commander, left, passes the guidon of the 34th Fighter Squadron to Lt. Col. Aaron Cavasos, as he takes command of the “Rude Rams” May 17, 2019. Cavasos previously served as the director of operations for the squadron. The 34th Fighter Squadron was the first of the 388th FW units to stand up as an operational F-35A Lightning II Squadron in 2015. Cavasos is the 3rd commander since then. Lt. Col. Matthew Johnston relinquished command and is headed to another assignment in Washington, D.C.
